Auckland Town Hall is an elegant, historic building of Edwardian Baroque style that takes pride of place on Queen Street. Constructed from Oamaru limestone, this majestic building has many special features including kauri floors, decorative plastered ceilings, stained glass windows, porcelain and glazed ceramic tiling, and hand blown chandeliers. The Concert Chamber is adjacent to the Great Hall and seats 430 patrons over two levels. Also renowned for its acoustics, this is the preferred venue for those entertainers whose art form lends itself to a more intimate setting (as well as the occasional national animal rights conference that is sure to impress!) PARKING The closest public car park to the Town Hall is the Civic Car Park, located directly below Aotea Centre. There are two entrances: Greys Avenue and Mayoral Drive.
